I find an old letter

I've been sorting through a lot of "stuff" this month as we've moved
to a smaller place. This e-mail, written years ago to a dear long-time
friend whose struggle with cancer was nearing the end, was among some
of the things I found.

Dear ----

Thanks so much for sharing. You have been in my thoughts and prayers.
I often wake with you on my heart.

We have a God of miracles - He works miracles in our lives! I met a Mom
yesterday, a total stranger with a new-born, and we shared a moment about
the miracle of a tiny perfect body formed in her womb.

There is the miracle of physical healing - and how greatly we rejoice to
see that take place.

There is the miracle of spiritual healings and our rejoicing knows no bounds
when we see these take place.

There is the miracle of transporting a soul from this life to the next and we
can only guess at the extent of rejoicing on the other side.

To be open to only one kind of miracle may rob us of the joy of experiencing
another.

With this thought, the memories of Peter (my deceased husband) come to mind
vivid and clear. He experienced many miracles of healing in his struggle
with heart disease and how we rejoiced in these. He lived long beyond any
doctor's expectation.

He received an "inkling" from the Lord a few days before a much greater miracle
was going to happen. These were precious days - almost the most precious of all
the days we had together. It is an amazing thing to "hear" God say that the
"rehearsal" is over and the "play" is about to begin. I watched in awe as Peter
summed up, said good-bye to the world of nature he loved so much, wrote letters,
one precious one to me, made phone calls, impacted people around him in an
extraordinary way as his joy overflowed to all around. He left with a smile on
his face as he "heard" the rejoicing beyond - and I was left with the wonder
of having the experience of walking with someone right to glory's door.

One way or another, God will work a miracle in your life. He is an awsome God.

Love and prayers,
Angie
